I just take a extra long bolt, insert it into the hole till it gets to the thread, mark the bolt flush with the top of the hole, remove the bolt and measure its length to the mark, and then add 1/2" to 3/4" for how much you want the threads to engage in the block. 3/4" longer if you use a flat washer and lock washer. I also use a drill bit or rod and check to be sure there is no debris in the bottom of the threaded hole.........................MO

Ah ha. That webpage gives you the count then, or the count should match the Poly timing cover you have. I can't recall offhand, but I think the bolts are all the same thread size but a couple are longer. Maybe you can take a small ruler or tape measure or something like a long wooden matchstick and use it to measure the depth where the bolt screws in?
