RE: Enquiry Dan Mathers

HI All,

I have the tti headers on my 65 fury for 13 years with no problems at all. But they were 700.00 then I bought them.

Yes, we also have 1 7/8 headers with 3” collectors for all big blocks in ’62-up B bodies and ’65 and up C bodies… we are the original TTI warehouse distributor in the TTI system since 1995 and we can help you with the parts including complete 2 ½ or 3 inch exhaust…

Hey Roland, this is the first time I'm hearing about headers for a 62-65 C-body car.  I have a 65 Polara with a 440 in it.  Do you know if they make headers for such a combo.  or could you give me the name/s of web sites with this info.
Thanks
Cory

The post by Jason regarding headers for the Poly concerned me… At this point we DO have 1 ¾/3” collector long tube headers and 2 ½” and 3” exhaust systems for ’62-’66  C and B bodies made for us by TTI… We have communicated with them at some length to produce packages for the ’55-’61 cars and are waiting for some volunteers to schedule that era cars for prototype…

Dan: several of us have done some really neat things with the poly motors. Yes it's not a main stream package but you will be very happy with the poly once you have the car running.  They are amazing!  Mine pulled like a big block even with a decent sized cam in it and no headers.  If there is any way you can make headers I would recommend it that is a real hold up area in my opinion

Then get a big cam and loose converter if running a auto tran. People will be stunned at what that set up will do

Dan,

Just a quick overview on the Poly...Rods down are the same parts as an LA 318/340 (rods, crank, bearings, oil pump). Front of the engine is the same as well (timing chain, timing cover, harmonic balancer, water pump). One note is that the water pump must be 67? and earlier as the water outlet is on the drivers side...unless you have a later radiator. Distributor and drive shaft are also the same.

Pistons, cam, heads, and valve gear are the different parts. Do plenty of research before you buy your parts, and make sure your machinist/builder has a great rep with lots of experience. He may not be the cheapest, but you get what you pay for.

I'm at the tail end of my build and will be happy to answer questions and share info with you if you like. Just email me.

Thanks Roland for your quick response. I will get with the motor builder and
we'll come up with a plan then I'll start getting items ordered.
Do you have a parts book of some type for this motor?

Thank you
Dan
