I have seen 2 1962 Newports with headers.  They are a very hard fit.  The steering gets in the way and the cable for the transmission.  Take a good look under the hood, the drivers side is a real bear....but it can be done.  

Here is a link to somebody who's done it on a car like that.  Should be almost the same.

I have a set of the 2" headers made by Davis in the 80's on my 66, 440 Charger. I ordered them through Roland. Tight fit but they did fit and have not leaked since I put them on in the 80's. I would estimate I gained 15 hp when I installed them.
