RE: Speedometer Lube



Yes Paul, there should be a small hole on the shaft housing on the back of the speedo. It may have a wick or piece of cotton sticking up. I was able to free up a completely seized speedo in a 66 Charger by oiling the wick with 3 and 1 oil and running the speedo with a drill and a broken piece of speedo cable until it ran free. I did have to remove the speedo from the dash to get at the wick.

 

BTW The dash pad repair looks good in your pic.

There is an oil hole at the speedo. I have the same issue and it's a new cable and I did lube the speedo
