I don't know anything at all about drag racing requirements, whether or not different classes need the SFI certification or whatever. There are only two things required for SFI certification, one is that the ring must be of steel, not cast iron; the other is that it must be contained if the elastomer fails. Generally you have pulleys bolted to the front of the hub, so I'd think that would serve as the containment. 

It might be a good idea to check with your local strip, but make sure you speak to someone who knows, not who says, "I think..."
