RE: How best to raise back end?

I would argue that point with you!  That is what everyone does, huge T bars to keep up with the Jones.  It all depends on how your going to drive your car.  On my 63 Sport Fury I have heaver T bars & sway bar,& KYB shocks because it is a driver.  On my 63 Fury I have 6 cylinder T bars and NO sway bar with 90/10 shocks.  Why would you do that you ask?  My SF I want to be stable in the curves while cursing through the country roads over hill and dale.  My Fury I go straight and want to get as much weight transfer as possible, the looser the suspension up front the better weight transfer I get.  Do I drive my Fury over hill & dale, NOPE!

Once you get the back end squared away – these cars can use more spring in the front – way under sprung back in the day.  I stepped up to at .92 dia torsion bars, much more compliant ride.  Mopar Performance P5249157.   Some step up even more in torsion bar size.

Subject: How best to raise back end?

My '62 Sport Fury sits low in the back end by at least 2-3 inches, I'm assuming because the leaf springs might be worn out?  We are thinking about getting leaf springs re-arc'd (there is a guy in Great Falls MT that does it), or perhaps putting on a longer rear spring shackle.  I looked on-line for a longer shackle but didn't immediately see one.  Any thoughts on where a guy could get a longer shackle, or whether it's better to have springs re-arc'd?  Thanks - Wade
