I assume that the 64 & 65 Dodge B body outer housings are different from each other due to there being a difference in the configuration of the rear wheel opening for each year, and I assume that is the reason why neither year Dodge outer housings are the same as the 64/65 Plymouth B body outer housings.

I assume that AMD makes the inner housings because they fit 64 & 65 B body Dodges and Plymouths, while they don't make the outer housings because they would have to make 3 different pairs of outer housings to fit those same years of Dodge and Plymouth B bodies (1 pair for the 64 Dodge, 1 pair for the 65 Dodge, and 1 pair for the 64/65 Plymouth).

With manufacturers it is all about market size.

Even though more cars use the same inner housings, I would think that most replacement inner housings may only be required to return tubbed cars back to stock, while the market size for any one of the 3 pairs of outer housings may actually be larger due to the number of outer housings that need to be replaced due to rust.
