Re: Fan / Clutch-fan What will fit



In my 65 Coronet, I'm running a completely stock poly radiator and fan shroud and I'm using a later model 7 Blade fan with a thermal clutch. Working great so far, but I may find and install a 3/4-1" spacer to get the fan into the shroud a little more.

I am running a 383 in my 63.  With the 4 blade fan it would run a little too warm for my liking in town, was ok on the highway.  Replaced with a 7 blade fan off one of my 413's.  The clutch was bad, so I just used my original spacer.  Temp problems instantly gone.  No fan shroud.

Still chasing cooler running temps.  Everything tells me my problem is air flow.  I'm running a 4 blade fan which I'd like to replace with a 7 blade or a clutch-fan.  Before I make a trip to the U-Pull-It yard can anyone tell me what will fit as far as bolt pattern?  I've got a fairly tight space with only 3 1/8" between the face of the water pump pulley and the radiator and 5/8" between the fan and the radiator.  I am running a 1" spacer which can be eliminated with the use of a clutch-fan.  This is all on a stock 440 w/ C.I. water pump.
