RE: Ignition Timing



And no timing discussion is complete without this article - helped me understand the importance of using manifold vacuum - the opposite of what many do..........

The MSD 8388 distributor instructions said to run as much initial timing as you can without knocking.  My 318 Poly with auto trans I have set at:  

Timing: 15 BTDC  Initial / 36 Total / Advance curve @ 2,500rpm
