I've been insured with Farm Bureau for many decades, and when competing companies have solicited my business, their quotes generally come in about $500-600 higher for a year for all my vehicle policies combined.  I do have "stated value" policies through them on my "collectible" (or at least "project" -- ha ha) Mopars which are very reasonable but I understand the difference between stated value and agreed value and have been shopping around just a bit for possibly converting to one of the collectible policy companies.  I have to say I have been treated reasonably on the (few) claims filed during these years (first policy bought in 1968---I drove uninsured until having my first crash in early '68 and found out the hard way the folly of doing that).  The 2011 burglary of my pole building with the theft of $15,000 worth of used parts from all the Mopars I parted out in the 80's and 90's was settled quickly and painlessly for the full amount.  It probably helped though that my agent had seen my building and contents in person before this happened.  (I posted in detail about this at the time but the criminals got a little over $500 for everything from a local metal salvage business.)

I use Condon & Skelley for my “Classic” insurer for the ‘56 Plymouth & ‘67 Dart GT...decent rates.

However,I  just received my “regular” car insurance bill frome Ameriprise and they just increased my premium by $100 more a year because I reached age 65.  SO, they must think the 65+ group are a higher risk and rate us as a “road hazard”...and no tickets or accidents in the last ten + years.  Only insure a 2007 Honda Civic and 2004 Dodge Dakota with low miles driven per year.

What carriers do those of you in the 65+ age group find “reasonable” for premiums on non-classic vehicles?

Thank you,
Gary P.

Been with Grundy for years, only  thing I have an issue with is they increase the value of my vehicle each year and the premium goes up, but have not had a claim to date, 3 vehicles at 37K  each value $791 cost for full coverage stated value. Might want to check them out. Nico
