Re: Speedometer Repair.

Mine bounces when you vary speeds. I had a revelation that there is probably a spring on the cable end that acts like a damper to hold force against the cable. I was thinking of looking, some day, to see if it's broken, loose or disconnected.

Thanks Paul for checking that out for me. I never thought of checking with C of C.  Grand Island isn't a very big town is it?
Cosmetically , my speedo looks great, but the needle is erratic to varying degree and I am pretty sure it is not in the cable drive , or the cable.  I lubed the tiny hole where the cable fits on the head- helped a little but did not fix. And I also want to set the odometer to 0's.................................MO

Did a search and the guy also had a carburetor and tune-up shop listed at the same address.  A call to the G.I. chamber of commerce didn't give any definite info.  Just said they weren't sure if he was in business anymore.  Is it mechanical or cosmetic repair you need?

.ing for someone in the Omaha area that can fix my 64 Dodge Speedometer head.  There used to be a place up there many years ago. Can't find them.  In the Car Council book, there was an ad from a guy at Grand Island , Ne. but phone call results in recording  the phone has been dis-connected.  No listing in the white pages for him.  I would rather not send it to someplace a long ways away.. Any input?.........Thanks.......................MO
