Re: Selling my car

I have successfully sold cars on line but in each case the person drove or flew to me (from as far away as California in one case) looked at the car or truck in person and paid in cash. The California buyer was buying a collectible motorcycle, the buyer didn’t take it with them but arranged pickup by a transport. On the other hand as a buyer, I have bought three cars without seeing them in person. One was about 400 miles away and I sent a deposit then drove to get it with truck and trailer. Another, same type of deal but it was 1200 miles one way.  But in the third situation I took a bigger chance. I didn’t lay eyes on the car, not even pics, until it arrived from Washington state on a transport. The seller was a fellow member of the Mopar Mailing List.  The price was right and when it arrived I was very happy. Again, that was very chancy.

NO one wants to buy a car without seeing it first ,,and there are very few people buying on line that are truly sincere about it .try local advertising and trust no one that says "i will send you an extra amount of money to pay the shipper when he arrives to pick the car up,," you can get taken easy with on line buyers ,,good luck

I am in the process of selling my 65 post and I am having trouble with how to make everyone feel safe when buying the car from across the country. I don’t want to be taken and the people I am trying to buy the car are always nervous (I had two potential buyers back out). How have you successfully sold a car on line?

Thanks,

Rob
