Firstly, the 1964 Barracuda NOS carb may not be suitable for unleaded
  fuel and some of the gaskets have decayed/gummed-up or you are
  experiencing the common fuel percolation “when HOT” and need to
  shield your carb from excessive intake/exhaust manifold heat transfer;
  a simple wood/phenolic resin spacer under the carb and a thin aluminum
  “heat shield” would suffice. Also shield your fuel pump with the
  thin aluminum heat shield on both vehicles.
Secondly, your ’74 Charger would benefit from the same modifications
  to reduce heat transfer to the carb and fuel pump…remember Don
  Dulmage’s old post on shielding the mechanical fuel pump?
And Rich Kinsley’s electric fuel pump shield when placed at rear of
  the vehicle and near exhaust/muffler components.
I suggest trying these inexpensive common-sense approaches first;
  especially wood/phenolic resin carb insulators. Laminated
  hardwood/plywood is your best heat insulator, bar none. A Rich Kinsley
  1 3/8ths laminated wood spacer cut 80F degrees of heat transfer from
  the intake manifold to the carburetor float bowls; and the Thermoquad
  carb phenolic resin float bowl “does” reduce fuel temp by 20F…as
  claimed by the factory. There is immense power in a cooler fuel
  charge; for every 1F degree of fuel temp reduction there is a 1%
  increase in gross HP down to a fuel temp of 50F; no benefit after 50F.
  Heat reduction/transition coatings on interior & exterior engine parts
  and components yield huge power gains and promote longevity of engine
  parts. For example; exterior heat barrier and plenum & intake runner
  coatings on a single four barrel aluminum manifold dropped the plenum
  temps to an unheard of 68F; this number taken immediately after engine
  stand run-in on a HOT engine seconds after shut-down.
Gary P. FROM: 'Larry Ashbaugh' I have a problem with a couple of my cars, and it seems to be similar:
  When the car starts, it runs decently, but after it gets hot, it
  stalls. When re-started, it wants to stall. This is on a 64 Barracuda
  (Slant 6, 1bbl carb, automatic), and a 74 Charger (318, 4bbl,
  automatic).
I was thinking it could be the float? on the Barracuda, as I recently
  changed the carb with a NOS carb before the issue began. However, this
  just started on the Charger, which has an Edelbrock 4bbl carb. Neither
  are used or started much, and the gas is pretty old....
