Hi Guys,
About 4 months ago I finally found an Aluminum wide block 2/4 bbl
manifold that was issued from Plymouth Parts Dept. as a Hi Performance Package for
the Fury and the 277 Cu in Plymouth. I sent the photo below with the Plymouth
Part number on it. P/N 1935919 and as you can see it is set up for the wide base
black cast iron bottom WCFB's.
I now thought I knew that you cannot use standard square base 56 Fury
single 4 bbl carbs on this manifold
.
Then at the Fall Carlisle Show I found the same exact Aluminum type
Plymouth made manifold with the exact same P/N on it and it was set up to take
only the smaller base WCFB carburetors !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (One more reason I
am not a purest-----which one is right???)
Apparently Plymouth made this forerunner brand new Aluminum manifold with the
same P/Ns but set up for different carburetors????? (Before you say it ----I
know you can drill either manifold out to fit either carbs.) However these
photos below of the two exact Plymouth manifolds with the same P/N are set up for
different carbs from the factory!!!!!!
See 2 photos below

PS. If you have a 318 in your 57 or 58 Fury with 2/4s. These Plymouth
Aluminum made manifolds are about 50 lb. lighter than your cast iron stock 2/4
manifold.
