Location: McPherson, KS | I got a promotional mailing for a calendar the other day at the shop...you know... have my shop name put on the calendar and hand them out kind of thing....
As I was tearing open the envelope, I was thinking, "well, at least I have a free 2007 calendar. They never put cars on these things that I like, why would I put my business name on one?"
Lo and behold, I was amused at the timing, as I had just finished the thought when I saw the cover with a great looking '56 Firedome Convertible. Besides being on the cover, it also adorns the month of December.
Nice looking car! Do we know who it belongs to? I couldn't find any ownership information in the calendar.
To try to give proper credit, the photo was taken by (and probably belongs to) Ron Kimball Studios.

Sweet car. I saw your dad's this weekend; I ran into him at the Big Daddy show. You may have to repaint his; I was drooling all over it.

Location: McPherson, KS | Hey, Dan!
Glad to hear of the Dad sighting, and to learn he's already got the car out! I guess he's only been back to FL for a couple of weeks now, since just after Hershey.

Location: Oakley, Ill | I have seen that car on calendars before, which does not detract at all from me wanting the calendar. I take the pics out of the cars I love, and frame them in the $5 walmart oak frames and hang them in my basement. Since I have a 3,000 sq ft basement, I have room for lots of them. |

Location: Southern California | I read where the wire wheels were discontinued in 1956, but that, as a special order, one could buy them for their new car. Could the '58 Firedome have them and be deemed "right"?
Just 'cause I like those wheels!

Location: Oakley, Ill | I'd gladly take another calendar with that car on it. I can look at it for a month, and I'm sure that therer would be other cars I'd like, too. |
