Lisa P Lisa's Firedome Fun (56 Photos, 12 Comments : Last updated 2012-01-20) *Make sure you look at the oldest photos first* This will be one of those project cars that will never be show quality but nonetheless, fun! I am using the Firedome as a way to learn all about welding, fabricating, painting, etc. and since the FL cars are the cars of my dreams but this was the only one I could afford, it was a good fit. I know it will never be worth (in $$$) what I put into it, but it is supposed to be FUN!

earleebob1 forward look 57 Flite RHD (88 Photos, 0 Comments : Last updated 2011-12-26) I bought my '57 Flite coupe about 5 years ago and began scouring the world via eBay for all the missing bits. After 1956 importation of Desotos to Australia ceased so parts here are scarce. Impatient to have a working Desoto, I bought a '58 2 door Firesweep in Melbourne. A beautiful pink with a white sweep with 40,000 miles on the clock.
The work on the '57 has progressed steadily until the artisan I had working on it became too ill to continue. Another very experienced panelbeater came available and has worked on the car full time this past year. Unfortunately my work commitments have relegated me to project manager, although I have had some manual input here and there.
The Pink '58 is LHD and a pleasure to drive, but since the '57 will have over 500HP I decided to go RHD as I would feel more in control on a familiar side of the car in case it 'stepped out' under power! The Hemi is a 1957 Chrysler 392 cuin which I had built in Datona USA and shipped here.
The car will run a disc brake upgrade up front and a 9" diff with rear drums. Converting the dash and steering to RHD has been by far the most expensive part of the restoration but will leave people scratching their heads, I hope! At the age of 63 I am looking forward to cruisin in my 1st American Muscle car!
| 58savoy2x4 1958 Savoy 4 door post (0 Photos, 0 Comments : Last updated 2011-12-16) This 58 is THE car that is pictured in the Mopar Fins website page, when you click on Plymouth, 58, Savoy, then "See a 4 door Savoy", that car is this one. It came from Cal., rust free, original paint when I got it. 3 speed on the tree with Overdrive, Radio and heater. I have restored it to it's present shape, Original fwd. look seat material found for the seats, all non-stainless chrome has now been rechromed or replaced with NOS as available. I painted her Bahama blue metallic w/Iceberg white and designed and did the custom door panels myself, as well. This is a poly 318 2v, now, but I just got an orig. dual quad intake for her, that will soon be on there, as well as a schneider hydraulic cam, and chromed original valve covers. Car is about 90% completed, Randy

spider89119 My 61 Chrysler (36 Photos, 1 Comment : Last updated 2011-12-04) This is Christine's younger and sexier cousin, Tish. From what little I know about the car's history, it was painted with black laquer and given the mild custom treatment about 30 years ago, then for some reason it was neglected and allowed to sit for a couple of decades. Some guy in a motorcycle crashed into the car at some point while it was sitting, causing minor damage to the chrome and body. Water must have been leaking into the trunk, because it had holes in it. The guy I bought the car from fixed the trunk floor the wrong way (a poor fiberglass patch job) I have a brand new trunk floor and extensions that I am going to install. All the other floors, rockers, etc. are solid.
I usually prefer cars that look completely original and stock, but this is one of the rare exceptions where I think the custom looks better than the stock look. I think the person who originally fixed her up had a really good vision for this car, and I am going to stick with that look for the most part as I get it back into shape.
