Inactive by Request Posts: 1292 Location: Lovely place | Well, I'm Skandinavian from heart - in my opinion the forum has also changed a bit after we started the oil topics etc. If the atmosphere isn't positive, its unlikely we get lot of postings. Or how do other people see the forum these days? To say something good, first time in two weeks I take my Sierra for a ride - this time its the mandatory "wedding car" part that it has to play. I really do hate using my car for that, but this time its wedding for a local restaurant owner and naturally I try to keep the beer flowing... This will be the first, last and only time I'm taking my car to a wedding! Usually once a week someone asks about the car for a wedding - they always get definitive NO, I'M SORRY. What do other people think about "renting a car" (but driving yourself), for some it could even be a business?

I do the Occasional Wedding / School Proms ETC with My Cars, But do drive them Myself.. I basically do it so that all Monies earned pays for the upkeep of the Cars If or When i need to buy spare Parts.. Just like a Good Woman, They need to pay for themselves...... LOL

Extreme Veteran Posts: 322 Location: Finland | Back to the original question... My excuse is very simple: I`m back at work after extremely extended "vacation". I don`t have a "stand in" person at the office so it takes a while before I´m up to date And what comes to the "wedding car policy", I have done it twice this summer even my Soto is quite rough rock`n`roll shape. Both married couples have been good friends of mine, so no big dollars made. I know that the guys with show quality topless cars are asking 200€ for this type of services... -jupe-

Inactive by Request Posts: 1292 Location: Lovely place | Yesterday I was at the wedding, and I guess people took as many photos of the car as the wedding couple I was offered so much food, beer and... rock'n roll that actually I should have paid them! Great wedding, here the tradition is to drive around neighbourhood in a long, slow convoy honking horns all the time after the couple is wed in the church - I laughed all the time, was so funny to stop the traffic! :D

Location: Bjorneborg, Finland | I found a new love 2 yahren and 2 quatron ago.. Grand Tourers with American power. I made an occasion, nice weather today, and drove my DeSoto over 20 miles. It was 4th time I drove it in this season... almost have forgotten how good the car is and I enjoyed very much.. still feels like this chair where I'm sitting on now, is sliding. The last time I drove my shiny coupe for wedding (should be 4-dr for that ceremony) was many yahren ago by galactical timeline.. since then nobody have asked it and gaad pless don't know anybody, except you Scandinavians, located overseas.. yo ho.

Where do you always dig this eagerness of ragtops? In last summer, there were '10' nice warm days in this latitude... must exploit them all. Where Wizard has gone?

Extreme Veteran Posts: 467 Location: Sweden | Joakim! The -59 300E is not mine! I will restore it for a friend, Its a completely rustfree California car that came to Sweden 8-9 years ago and im almost sure this is the last 300E Conv that will be found in this rustfree condition. Since its just 140 conv made! The -57 300C is mine that i picked up last week! It has been in Sweden since 1994 and has been very rusty but the previous owner changed the hole bottom of the car and after that he lost his spirit to continue. So i got the chance to buy it and i will try to just put it together and use it as a driver. I,m attaching a pic of my -57 300C coupe that i was going to work on this winter but i guess i save it for later. Location: Bjorneborg, Finland | I raise hat to all those fellows who spend big effort and time to restore those cars meticulously.. if I had a hat. I can bet, I will never buy a total project car again, of any kind. I will eat my hat, if I had a hat, when that happens. Joakim - have you ever owned, as being swede, Mopar with hard roof? Extreme Veteran Posts: 467 Location: Sweden | Some Progress with the -59 300. The body is really the best ive ever seen and its a real plesure to work with it when you dont need to spend 100s of hours welding rust. I will try to sandblaster it if we get some good wheater on the upcoming Holidays. Board Moderator & Exner Expert 10K+ Posts: 13062 Location: Southern Sweden - Sturkö island | That is a real nice body for to be such a rare bird Jörgen! Only 140 where built, whereof 131 for domistic sales (USA) and NINE for export! I can only see some rear quarter and rocker rust, but the floor boards, wheel wells and trunk looks like new. Such a car deserves it's own thread, so I and I'll bet more here on the forum would like you to open a thread for the renovation so that we can follow your progress.
