Extreme Veteran Posts: 515 Location: Lubbock, Texas | Y'all. I have a question. We're talking about the floor of my DeSoto here, so if you haven't seen it, please refer to the pictures in my photo album. I haven't found any rot on these floors, but there is quite a bit of surface rust and some flaking in areas. Someone mentioned to me under one of the pictures that I could probably get the floor pans finished in about a day. They didn't say how, though. My question is, how should I go about getting the floor pans cleaned up and ready to go? If I take the seats out, do I go after them with a wire wheel and a drill, or do I use a sander? Should I rent a sand blaster and do it that way? After I have stripped the pans down to bare metal, what do you suggest I do next? Do I put down some kind of sealer? What works best? Can this be done at home, or should I get a professional? Thanks, John

It is about the best of the so-called rust convertors. I believe they even guarantee that the item will not rust. You would have to check their catalog.
