What is the the place to buy a carpet set for a 1958 Chrysler New Yorker? I had some experiences in the past with 60´s Chrysler, but it is my first 50´s car.

Thanks in advance.

Agusto, I do not know where you live, but if your car still has a decent carpet remnant, or, you know someone
who can show you how the OEM carpet was stitched together, any local car upholstery shop should be able to
stitch together custom-fit-to-your-car carpeting .

If your car's carpet is black, then your local shop should have no problems in getting a correct carpet-sample for
you to approve-of, before they custom-fit/install it into your car.

Another major benefit to having a local shop create your carpeting, BESIDES their being able to form-fit it perfectly
to the contours/shape of your car, is that any problems that you might encounter with the installation of the carpet/
padding can be addressed directly face-to-face with your local shop.

If there are any problems with a pre-made-up carpet, you'll have to deal long-distance with that provider, AND with
whomever it is,that is installing that pre-made-up carpeting (because each will blame the other-one, for causing YOUR
problems).

If our cars had 'molded' pre-formed carpeting, then, there would be no question about having to buy pre-made carpet sets,
but, our cars just have very-simple stitched together carpet mats.

Get it be done locally, by a competent upholstery shop, and you WILL be happy with the results.

Thanks Neil. I live in Spain, so no place to buy a carpet here. I think my car has a pre molded carpet, so no problems to install it. I installed myself several carpets on the past (60´s cars) and all went fine, with sometimes minor fitting problems, but nothing major.

The carpet on my car is grey, maybe there is one supplier in the US who can provide this. About an upholstery shop...no skills here

You could always try S.M.S. fabrics.

Screw SMS. they have horrible customer service. I bought mine at a place called Stockinteriors.com I believe. There was a thread in the vendors section.
