This is a follow-up from a tire question recently posted in the "Transmission and Rear Axle" forum. I want radial tires and better handling for my '58 DeSoto. At the same time, I want to keep the original 14" wheelcovers and some semblance of a stock appearance. If I'm not mistaken, the car was originally equipped with 8.50-14 bias plys. Any recommendations? The current wheels look like they've been abused by the gorillas from the old Samsonite commericals. I'm probably going to replace them no matter what I do. I've been looking at the BF Goodrich Silvertown 225/70R14 with the 2 3/4" whitewall.

Thanks in Advance!!
Justin
