The more 59 Dodges I look at the more I see that seem to have the 2 speed transmission. I was wondering if anyone knows the production numbers for 59 Dodges built with the tourkflite verses the powerflite.

SNAP... Most i have seen Advertised have been Powerflite,,,, It seems the Torqueflite were only ever fitted to the Higher Models, Lancer and Royal... I wonder how much the Option of Transmission would have been in it,s day

It's funny, The 59 Coronet 2 door hardtop I have, is fairly fancy, it isn't completely optioned out or anything like that, but it is pretty nice. It has the two speed transmission. The four door sedan I had was a lower line model. It had rubber floor mats and radio delete, and was originally a one color car I am pretty sure, and it had the 3 speed. Strange combination.

According to 'standard catalog of Chrysler, 1914-2000': 1959 Dodge, Convenience options: Torqueflite transmission, all V-8 models $226.90 (Powerflite was $189.10 ) when cheapest Coronet list price was $2466 (6-cylinder, manual, 2D Club sedan).

Hola

If one would have gotten a car from the 1959 Imperial Division ( http://imperialclub.org/Yr/1959/index.htm ) , the Power-flite was not listed and the torque-flite was an Standard no cost item.

Larry: how does it compare, with that 57 PLY hardtop?

Both cars have a P/Flite transmission, but yours has dual antennae, & they ARE valuable!!!

Rough I was going to use the side glasses and back glass for that 58 behind it. Seats too, but if someone felt froggy I would sell the car...Those back glasses are hard to find unless you know something I don't about that. I know you know a hell of a lot about these cars...
