New User Posts: 3 | Hi, I would like to say hi to all of you, i just stumbled onto this website and i'm pleased to see there's a lot of people that like the old "vinned warriors" I own a 1957 New Yorker with the super engine the 392 HEMI, it is all stock and drives great! i do believe mine is the only 57 NY in the Netherlands! In 1992 it came to Holland from Florida, it is an older restauration and it could use another...but..it still drives fine and this winter i will weld a few parts in the floor and make a disk break conversion to make it a bit saver to drive in the crowded Dutch traffic! I also own a 1967 Dodge monaco sedan and a 1979 Dodge B200 Sportsman Van wich i drive daily. I am going to check allt the members rides..i like the 50's cars more every day! Keep them on the road! Thanks. Jack PS i am a member of the MOPAR club Holland, see our website www.mopar.nl Edited by jvdwolde 2007-07-22 8:13 PM (newyorkertexel.jpg) (newyorkertexel1.jpg) (marion foto 096klein.jpg) Attachments ---------------- newyorkertexel.jpg (56KB - 91 downloads) newyorkertexel1.jpg (57KB - 91 downloads) marion foto 096klein.jpg (58KB - 96 downloads)

Location: Parts Unknown | OK, .... anyone know the facts about this application of BOTH fender top ornaments AND the hood top "impalers" ? My 57 NY'er had BOTH like this, but it was the only one I ever saw until now. I have never owned a salesman's option book for this car that outlines this kind of stuff. Were they both just options and most buyers got one or the other, but not both ? Great looking car - especially with both those options ! I'd sure hate to be a pedestrian hit by that car !

But anyway this New Yorker is stunning car, especially with those colors. Congratulations!

New User Posts: 3 | Thanks everyone for the warm welcome! @ Diesel...i live in the North of our little country in a little town called Meppel.. Dr. Desoto, i dont know why, but i know the fender and hood ornaments are original on my car...and i haven't seen it before eather on a '57 NY'er, i believe this is the only 57 NY'er in this country, i did see a '58 NY'er on a meeting a few months ago, but not yet heard of, or seen another '57 ;-) That makes it even more special! This big car get's the attention of almost everyone overhere, and they all like it! when i drive on the freeway and overtake a small car, you should see the're faces hahaha.. the hood is almost as long as the're entire car! BIG FUN! You all have beautifull cars, you will see more of me on this site! Jack

Expert Posts: 2011 Location: Ballwin, Missouri | Jack, Welcome. I noticed in your second picture that you had better not jump those tire stops. No curb between there and the water. That looks a litlle dangerous. How many have they had to fish out of the water so far?? Again Welcome.

Location: Parts Unknown | Yeah, the fender "birds" are somewhat unusual on any 57 Chrysler. The hood "impalers" even moreso. Outside of my very original, unmolested NY'er 2HT, yours is the only other one I have seen with both.
