Expert Posts: 3951 Location: Bama | I have been told by a reliable source that their rust away stuff is legit and works great. I noticed a lot of the car still holding itselt up. I like the fact that something is going to happen to the car instead of Tulsa parading the car around some more. It is either rust away or sealed in a 25,000 gallon cube of clear epoxy for "the viewing".

Expert Posts: 1918 Location: Hell's Outhouse - a.k.a. Buckeye, Arizona | The solution they plan to use is supposed to leave any remaining paint alone - even leaving chalk marks/numbers etc. intact afterwards, to look at the pics they've posted. Not that there might be any paint left on the Bevy, but that's what they claim.....

There was still paint left on the car - atleast on the upper body. (paint.jpg) Attachments ---------------- paint.jpg (113KB - 149 downloads)

I would rather look at/contemplate the car, in its post-unearthing condition, with its "patina"/corrosion/deterioration/discoloration, than look at an inconsequential cleaned-up wrecking-yard-appearing car. But: get SERIOUS, Neil : the family's looking at EASY-MONEY, here; it ain't as if they're MoPar Freaks, or , interested in the car , as its being a truly unique historical artifact!

The car is supposed to leave Tulsa in September then "after it is running and all the lights working" will go back to Tulsa for a "re-unveiling" I guess the car is destined to be moved around until it does fall apart.

Veteran Posts: 104 Location: dunbar , wv | getting this car running with out a rebuild is totally out of the question , i feel a new wiring harness would be need as well if they want the lights to work still i feel it would be a better museum piece if left alone .

Posts: 19146 Location: bishop, ca | Adam, I believe that the family's mathematical formula, for the disposition of the car is: EASY MONEY > historical artifact Their MISTAKE, I believe, is in thinking that the car will be worth (MORE) money, after they collect their EASY money, than it would be worth to them, in its as-unearthed condition. The problem is: once the car is screwed-with, its fate is sealed. Their better-option would have been to explore its as-unearthed value, against the availability of the Easy-money (which would always be available to them, because Ultra One is dying to exploit their own product, at the expense of the car).

I agree totally--what value does Miss B have after someone has put her thru the process- with no guarantee- collected the money, and all there is left is useless scrap. Maybe if I were passing by, I would pay $1.00 to see the famous car that they screwed up.................................MO

Veteran Posts: 104 Location: dunbar , wv | your exactly right! i beleave there screwing up there profits and are too stupid to realise it . i wish it would have been brought up in good condition just like all the other car guys around here, but it is what it is so i guess we will all see what happens in the coming months. too bad a car nut like one of the guys on the board didnt win it .seems like they dont see how cool of an artifact they own. I wish the car had been above ground in some type of container!
