Posts: 19146 Location: bishop, ca | Ah, nyuk, nyuk, nyuk, nyuk; should the car be preserved in its present state/condition, as an Original Artifact, or should it be completely stripped down (AND, of-course, NOT BE left that-way; therein lies the DIFFERENCE between Holley's car, & Ms Belvie's being stripped-down) .....and completely "restored" to OEM condition/specs???? As the car is NOT in "as-last-used" condition, by Holley, I vote for its complete restoration (it's not a Mope, anyway; who cares?)

Expert Posts: 2338 Location: central oklahoma! | i like weezer's version of "buddy holly." i also like devo; i think mark mothersbaugh bears an eerie (sp?) resemblance to buddy holly. elvis costello used to, as well, but he deliberately changed his image as he was not comfortable with that. devo never made a conscious effort at it, though.......

Extreme Veteran Posts: 387 Location: morehead, kentucky | That is very interesting I am glad to know that the car has been restored. It will never bring Buddy or any of the other great artist that died that cold night back, but it will help keep there spirt alive. Thats just the way I feel about it. Did Buddy ever purchase the Cadillac in New York or was that something just made up for the movie, If he did that would be one rare ass Caddy today. I have never actually seen a 58 2 seater Caddy other than the one in the movie and one other on the net. Super sharp car.
