Nice car, why the blacked out treatment for some of the bright work but not all of it? Is it a personal preference or were those pieces in poor shape before painting?

Thats the way it was when I bought it, im going to have the paint removed from the grill and eyebrows, the previous owner claimed the chrome was good and it wasnt supposed to be painted black.

Ouch!

Dig the colors and it's a hell of a nice car, but you're gonna pay out the nose for replacement Lancer emblems, eyebrows and dual antennas if they can't get the black paint off 'em all.....

Well, it's still a super nice car to start with, the paint and body look good and 4 door hardtops are a pretty design. The grill is annodized, or supposed to be. If you are careful, you may be able to preserve that. I think that the eyebrows on crls are actually chrome where as they are stainless on Coronets. You might be able to take the paint off of those with a buffer and some polishing compound, same for the tailights, hood ornament, and gills on the back.

Just Pray that they Haven,t " Deep Etched " the Chrome to get the Paint to Stick.. I have seen some people attack Chrome with a Electric Sander/ grinder to take off the Shine to get paint to adhere..

Nice Car though.. The person who done the Paintwork probably thought it looked Great , Everyone to their Own ,, But i Prefer the Stainless and Chrome

You are right clive, in that case you would be better off looking for replacement "driver" quality pieces.

The best way to remove that paint from the trim is to remove the trim pieces, and use either Aircraft Stripper of Jasco paint stripper. The paint will come right off, with no damage to the finish of the parts. ---John
