I got in some rain last weekend, for the first time
and the wipers on my car worked ok, EXCEPT, the rubber
must be hard and all dried out because they didn't wipe
the water away they just smeared it around. Does anyone
make replacemant wiper refills for a '59 Coronet wiper blade???
All of the metal parts of my wiper arms are chrome so I would
like to find just the rubber refills.

I got the refills at Autozone recently. I don't recall them being hard to find. I took my old ones in to get the length right. Other than length, the width of the spine is the only other consideration. Any parts store has refills. You don't need the whole blade, the refil will come out of the metal blade.

Brian, Did you go in and ask for wiper blade refills for a
'57 Plymouth, specifically, or did you just take the old refills
in and say, "here match these up"???

The AutoZone I have here in town isn't the best parts store I've
ever been in. They have trouble finding a roll of paper shop towels.
Maybe I'll try one that's up near where I keep the car.

I took in my old ones and plugged 57 Plymouth into the little electronic application finder that was on the wiper blade isle. You could likely ask the counter clown and get the right part. Look for Anco part number U16R at AutoZone. Disadvantaged Auto Parts couldn't find it online.

You can take yours in and match them. That's the easiest way.

LOL. I went to my local Auto Zone this week, answered "Plymouth" when the counter girl asked "What make?". She said "Plymouth? Who makes that? I need the make".

Please tell me you're joking - please?

Plymouth hasn't been dead even 7 years - is this counter girl, like, 9?

Doesn't surprise me one bit !!!! The idiots that work at this local
auto zone have trouble finding the bathroom !!!! I've all but stopped
going in there, except for waxes or oil. I have a NAPA near where
I keep my car stored and they are a great bunch of guys. It's a small town
store so they will still take the time to help anyway they can. When I
drove the car up there to get something this summer the whole store
had to come out and look at it.
