Here are my two FL cars.

The 55 Savoy is in nice driver condition and is used almost daily in the summer.
It is a 230/Powerflite car. No rocket, but the steam engine like low-end torque makes it ideal for cruising.
This car has been in Norway since 1970 and has never really been restored, just one older repaint that still looks ok.

The 57 Belvedere is my current project.
This car has seen its fair share of use and abuse, but its all there and fully restorable. The engine is a 413 from a 61 Chrysler, originally a cross ram engine but it has only got a single fourbarrel now.
The main issue is rust in the outer rockers and lower rear fenders. This will be attended to this winter.
I plan on getting this car up and going and use it for a couple of years before it gets a full restoration.
It will sooner or later be painted in its original green metallic with white roof and inserts.

Anders, Norway

Wow! What can I say? Got to love the internet sometimes!
I have been thinking about trying to trace some of the 57's history in the US and maybe get some photos to copy, but this is almost too easy..
It looks awesome in the pics! I'll send you a PM.

Cool cars Anders. I love the '57...!
But now you know it's history, the fun is over. So I think you should now sell it to me so it be can ship it to the Netherlands... :D :D

Nice cars! Its cool to see a 413 swapped into a 57, when I inevitably commit to the big block swap its on the short list of possible candidates.

Did the lady in the last pic go with the sale? It may be more fun to track her down than the roots of your car...

As good as it looks in red, it's going to be amazing in green with white spear and roof!

Congratulations on finding some history on your car here, within three posts. hahahaaa

Beautiful cars, both of them.

Thanks for the kind words everyone!

Here is a pic of my previous FL car. It's actually a 57 Savoy sold new here in Norway as a taxi.
After a long and hard life it was restored in the eighties using most parts off a 58 Belvedere.
It was a nice car but I could never really settle with it as it had a lot of work and welding done to it that made it almost impossible to get really good.
Love the 58 sportone trim with the hockey stick though, thats the only thing I miss on the 57..

BTW, "old mopar guy", did you get my PM?

I'm in agreement. I always love to see another green plymouth. That blue 57 didnt look bad either.

Anders, et al, isn't it AMAZING what only TWO model-years could do, as far as a complete style change-over is concerned?

Of course, one could point to the 62's+ finless cars, but those subsquent years were not as different from the finned cars, as
would be the K Cars, (or, maybe the Duster/Demon body style, IF the latter were to have been made into regular production
4-dr sedans and convertibles, etc.)

You have a good point there Neil.
Looking at my two cars it seems more like there is ten years between them..
Not only is the styling and structure totally different, but every little thing about them. The build quality and components used in the 55 is way better.
The 57 on the other hand handles like a modern car compared to the 55. Not that there is anything wrong with the 55's handling, it's more the 57 that's ten years ahead of its time.
Strange as it may seem the 55 is a little longer..

Look at some of the other cars around in 1955 ! That Plymouth was great, ive had some 55s and56s i still do and they are so nice Quality built they ride better than any Cheby or Frrd of the same vintage and as much as i love my 57 and 8 the 56 has such a better ride and construction i can deal with a little lean and dip.and even my 56 ply conv is a lot tighter than even some of the cars built in the 60s and 70s and yes the 56 n55s are longer than 57+8s ...MERRY CHRISTMAS and HAPPY MOTORING! and take good care of my old 57, Victor..

These are the colors my 57 Belvedere once had. Can't wait to get rid of that faded red and paint it like this again!
Nice and subtle 50's colors that will set it apart from the sea of red cars.
This lovely wagon was on ebay a few weeks back.
