I'm always impressed at the quality of restoration work done on these FL cars in Finland/Norway/Sweden... one advantage of long winters, eh?

Cute cars That '61 DeSoto must have optional roof moldings, not many seen with that chrome.

That seems to be your 60 DeSoto with your girls in it Jupe? Does that mean that you made the deadline?

Yes Sven, I made it before deadline, I even had one hour "free time". Cruising started at 15.00 and I was finish 14.00   She don`t look as good as other FL`s on the cruising but I´m back on the road for summer. This cruising was also test trip for the car `cos I haven`t done anything else but rust repair. Test was quite ok, horn went on in the middle of the city :)  flash works occasionally and surprisingly the 50 year old radials weren`t so good for handling.. Next week I´ll try to get her officially street legal and then I`ll continue making her look better.

Congrats regarding your car! Too bad I missed the meeting, I'm right now in Finland but not with the Dodge. Looking forward to the Forssa's Picnic..

Off topic, but for Finnish guys; If someone is interested of my 59 Dodge frontend parts, I'm staying close to Mäntsälä where the parts are located. This weekend would be best to sell them (good price), as I've noticed my allergy is getting worse due the hot spring weather and I will leave Asap..

Do you have a good front bumper for the '59 Dodge ? My friend need one for his '59 D-500. Also need vent window frames with good chrome for same car (2 door hard-top) and D-500 nameplates for rear fenders.

Einar, That wasn`t Neil this time ;)   But Neil and any other FL`s are welcome to Vaasa and my home anytime. Owner for this mentioned 57 Royal is called Jan (not FinFury57on this forum) and Dodge was imported from Sweden last year (never registered in Sweden).

Heh; I did a double-take, when I saw that first pic, too!

My car has only a single-front antenna, and also has the lower quarter panel protector-stainless-piece, but, it sure
looked like that car, when I first got it, with its 3" wide white wall bias plys.

Well Neil, it's quite a few years since we met at the WPC Club National Meet in Akron, Ohio in 1999. Almost 10 years. Even longer since you first sendt me the picture when you wanted to sell the car to me. Sorry I couldn't remember the details, but the color and all, is how I remebere your beautyful Dodge. I'm sure you're happy now, that I didn't have the mony then. Hope you keep in good shape. Hope you are still in good shape too Neil. About your car being in Finland was just a joke of course

I'm always thinking about how nice it would be if some of us guys could meet for real some day, not just on the 'net. And since I have been to the U.S. attending meets and swaps and shows so many times, you guys "OWE" me, to come this way It seems to me jet fuel is cheaper than gasoline these days anyway, so I'm sure it would be cheaper to take a plane to get here than to drive your car

Einar.
