Can someone please tell me which side of the hood insulation pad, from Gary Goers, glues to the hood?
One side is raw fiberglass and the other side is coated with a rubberized paint substance.
I've seen pads that have the raw fiberglass showing and some not. Which is correct?
This is on my 58 N/Y'er wagon.
Thanks in advance!!
Bob

Well after much research, nobody seems to know, for sure, which is correct.
Different manufacturers do it differently, so apparently no one will commit to which way is correct.
Surprised NO one was willing to even make a suggestion.
It is now installed, right or wrong, with the raw fiberglass showing.

I saw your post earlier but I didn't know the answer for sure because My DeSoto does not have the hood insulation pad that I would have checked. But if I remember correctly, I believe you installed yours correctly because I just can't remember seeing one that was not the "fuzzy" fiberglass showing.

Thanks for the replies and the links.
I'm pretty sure that at least some of the Chryslers had the hood pad available, but maybe as a dealer installed option?
My 58 N/Y'er sedan parts car definitely had something glued to the underside of the hood as evidenced by a glue residue that was obviously brushed on.
The pad from Gary is on there now and looks good. Hope it is correct.
Thanks again.

I've never used lizard skin. Is it a ceramic coating? How does it hold up in a hot engine area?
