I am trying to remove the knob and shaft from my 59 Plymouth headlight switch and can't get it out.  I have tried pushing the release button on the switch and squirted WD40 on it and still no luck.  Are there any other tricks to get it to release?   Thanks

Push the knob in first, push the button down then pull it out.

Shep, I finally had a chance yesterday to try your advice and the knob and stem came right out!  I must have spent an hour looking in the manual and trying every trick I could think of, but never tried your combination.  Thanks for the help!!
