My 55 starter stays engaged even when the key is released.
It either starts (most of the time) kills the battery, or releases when the battery is disconnected.
The starter & solenoid have been replaced.
Any suggestions?
Thanks.

A bad ignition switch can sometimes cause that too happen. Or wires with worn insulation touching can, too.

Make sure you have no ign current at the solenoid when the key is released, basic check for this condition. as mentioned.
