THE Ultimate Barn Find!

I love my MoPars, but I also appreciate cars of all periods, from all countries. I particularly like the Auburn/Cord/Duesenberg creations, dream cars, for me. And then there is the Bugatti, which is perhaps the most romanticized of all luxury motorcars. Perhaps.

I posted this because any REAL car guy would find ineterst in it even if it isnt one of our beloved FLs. This is a very important find for the anitque/classic automotive world.

There was an incredible renaissance of these exotic cars that reamins largely overshadowed in the public's eye by the looming war in Europe in the late 30's. There were a number of builders turning out these slinky, low slung beasts to a very limited audience. You may have seen the recent discovery of a pair of Auto Union Le Mans type racers .... sleek cigars of a car with an engine befitting the old adage "four foot cop with a five foot gun".

Neat stuff.

Awesome. These days, it's great that our old cars are valuable enough to justify mega $$$ restorations. But that makes it even more exciting when a "time warp" car is discovered - be it a Bugatti or something much more modest. The little details can be fascinating, especially on cars of this era which are often the subject of gross over-restoration by the Concours brigade.
Remember, a car once restored is no longer "original".

Oh feces! Wait 'til the mods see that! They will go balistic!
Their virgin eyes!
Those Jezebels either, need to put more clothes on, (for Nathan's virgin eyes) or take off what little clothes they do have on, run down there to the sewer, and frollic around with the old perverts!

Hope that THIS Bug doesn't end up in the tender-clutches of Ultra-NONE!

Another "family" inherits a rare car....

BTW, for all who may not already know this, the girl/lady, on the left, is the former List Member : "Miss Wide Body Fins"
and the one on the right is her sister: Ms. Belvie (dear)....

That "Chasing Classic Cars" show is exasperating. The guy goes through all the motions, but is totally hung up on hoity-toity Ferraris and the like.

Ferraris might be cool as machines, but they are so indulgent in the elitist high society world of gated manses and country estates, I am filled witht he urge to hurl.

Old Cars weekly once ran a column - I have forgotten the author's name after all these years - where this guy and his friends ran about New England hunting early brass-era cars and Duesenbergs in forgotten garages and backwoods ravines. Now THAT was chasing classic cars !

Ferraris are no more "classic" to the real world than a fine watch, ... superbly handcrafted machines rarely seen by the public. My definition of "classic" is that whatever it may be, it is iconic in its nature and defines an era, not an era only seen by a handful of wealthy racing enthusiast removed by their own wealth from the real world.

Let's see someone go hunting and resurrecting rust bucket field relics of the real American road, be they Packards or Hudsons. This show is just one more case of the media pandering the Paris Hilton lifestyle as the only life to aspire to.

Dukeboy- how do you know they arent bald, they wearing skirts! Fake tans, too much make-up, too skinny; obviously NOT true farm girls and NOT my type!

I remember that other Bug, "only" $1m as it was in rather rough shape. HeII, this recent "Holy Grail" looks like you could flush the fluids, throw in a new battery and go for a spin. Hopefully it will NOT be restored, no reason to and plenty not to.

I have never seen this show you guys speak of, but if it is all Ferries, I am not interested. I agree with Doc: Brass-eras, Duesies and the like, now THAT is what its all about! Even the "newer" Packs and Huds would be cool.

If value was not an issue I would rather find 1st a 57 Desoto Fireflight convertible(Aqua & white) or 2nd a 59 Dodge Convertible (black with Red interior)and 3rd a 57 Dodge Convertible (sea spray green,or Red and white) only because I already have a 57 Plymouth convertible! Forget about the 8 Mil ! What would be your FANTASY barn find? HAPPY MOTORING?1st ,2nd,and 3rd ?Or should I ask this Question in a different thread?

My Fantasy Barn Find would be one that I could wash, polish, gas up and sell for $1,000,000.00US, which (after taxes) would allow me to invest it and have enough annual income to take a fling with one of the little girls of Bart's Barn Find. (The "cheeky" one on the left.) Probably have to stand in line though!!!!! Oh Well, You can always dream. LOL

Good Show, Bart.

The Reserve was rumoured to be £3 Million,, So the car Selling for euro3.4 million (about $4.4 million) Was about what they Expected.. Still a Shed load of £££££££££££££££ .... Think how many Pristine FL,s that would Buy...
