looking at my hollander interchange book there are 2 different gens in 55. (one for power steeering and one without).

part numbers are GDZ4801a 35 amp. GGU6001(A or F,G,T,V,R,S-1 and X) 50 amp. GGW6001A,B,C,J,L,Q,K and S-1N. CGW6009A or B. CGW6010A or B or S1 and CGW6012a or B or S1.

These are the year cars that will fit you're 55 dodge which most likely has a 35 amp unit.
51-55 chrysler and desoto, 48-54 dodge, 48-52 dodge truck 53-54 hudson, 51- 55 plymouth

Also there is a 45 amp unit in the 55 windsor, 300 and ny'er as well as any 55 mopar with air cond and not power steering.
