I'm sure it's been posted on here somewhere but I searched and can't find it...I'm interested to see what the average breakdown of models is, among forward looks, as in what percent were 2 door hardtops, 4 door hardtops, sedans, wagons, et cetera. Can someone post with a link if it's in the forum somewhere, or another site?

Location: The Mile High City | I am sure it is different for each year and make, but for U.S.-built '58 Dodge passenger cars, the approximate breakdown of body styles is: About 7% of station wagons were two-doors. Station wagons represented about 15% of total production where passenger cars made up approximately 85%. Edited by Lancer Mike 2012-06-15 2:52 PM

Thanks guys, was wondering about 58 Plymouth 2 door hardtop, the closest thing to my 58 Regent which has no known production breakdown figures, but should be similar to Plymouth in the U.S. Edited by 58dodgeregent 2012-06-17 12:21 PM

Expert Posts: 1819 Location: Vancouver, BC | The figures quoted in the Standard Catalog series and the Encylopedia of American Cars list total Chrysler Corporation production for the United States and Canada combined from 1930 through 1976. The 1957 to 1959 Plymouth production figures include American built Plymouths, export Dodge Kingsways and export DeSoto Diplomats plus Canadian-built Plymouths, Plymouth-based Dodges, export Dodge Kingsways and export DeSoto Diplomats. Prior to that Plymouth figures included 1951-1956 American-built export Dodge Kingsway and all export DeSoto Diplomat production (1937-1956). For the 1958 Plymouth Savoy, Dodge Regent, Dodge Kingsway Deluxe and DeSoto Diplomat Deluxe production - 2-door Sedan - 17,624 - 10.25% 4-door Sedan - 67,933 - 39.52% 2-door Hardtop - 19,500 - 11.34% 4-door Hardtop - 5,060 - 2.94% 2-door Wagon - 5,925 - 3.45% 4-door Wagon, 2-seat - 38,707 - 22.52% 4-door Wagon, 3-seat * - 17,158 - 9.98% Total 1958 Plymouth Savoy, etc. - 171,907 * - Not built in Canada For Canadian production, 4 door sedans generally took a larger percentage.

Veteran Posts: 194 Location: Dorset, England | Do you know - in ball park terms - how the different divisions sold percentage wise. Presumably Plymouth outsold all the others, but did they sell 10 cars to Dodge's 4, DeSoto's 2 & Chrysler's 0.5? I expect this has been covered in another thread, sorry if that's the case.
