Description...

Don't have the real story on this motor but have talked with a few people that knew about it when I was a Kid.

What it is ? Chrysler for sure Performance Parts. Replacement long block for 392 HEMI 390 HP built for 425 hp plus... I don't know what cam or pistons is in it. Isky TRW etc... Just don't know.

This motor was bought over the counter from the Chrysler Parts counter in the early 60's. Was bought for a Drag car project that never happened, car was sold before engine was installed. Then comes Drag Boat , Jet boat ( I do not know if it was a Chris Craft Cobra or a Fiberglass Speeder )

The boat was modified to except the 392 Hemi motor and no one knows for sure, but I was told it has less than 5 hours on it and looks it. Everything looks like it, new oil filer, good looking Packard 440 plug wires, valve train looks New. etc...

Was driven across Lake Wichita many times Roster tail that people remember. Boat was loaded up after 3 day weekend and took home/shop. Engine was removed from the boat ? WHY ? For the boat to get ???? repaired ? or sold ? . Motor never made it back in any Boat or Car. WHY ? know one knows for sure. It was crated up with Drag boat exhaust just like it sits now. Been sitting in a Temp controled warehouse/shop past 30 years, dust proves that. HaHaHa.

Starter works and turns motor over with ease and has 60 psi (see picture) also have 3 pictures showing motor turning over, arrows on flywheel/drive plate. Spark plugs clean and look nice.

List of everything on the motor from top to bottom.

4 Edlebrock Air cleaners

4 EBU 2bl Stromberg/Holley carb's Look like not used much. all have chokes ...

1 fuel rail

1 Weiand Intake # WC 245

1 Distributor with Packard 440 plug wires

2 Chrome valve covers (spotting from sitting)

1 1731528-1 NH head with HHP valvetrain
1 1731528-2 NH head with HHP valvetrain

1 Starter, 1 Chrome timing cover, 1 flywheel/drive plate, 8 spark plug tubes, and misc stuff on it, also Awesome Jet Boat exhaust marked Cal Marine

NO TRADES, NO trades, NO TRADES ... Owner of this will not trade !

Questions ? not much left to ask but call me with any at 940*781)(9881 ....

Remember this motor has not seen the light of day for over 30 years has not been mounted in anything in more than 45 years. Sold As-Is Where is NO Implied or Expressed Warranty. I will help load. Delivery ? Ask for quote.

SO its not new by any means but is the closes you'll ever find. Thanks for asking....

Update: Information as needed for people.... OK I've had 4 people call wanting the block codes and head codes. heads are cast and the numbers are posted above, BLOCK is Over the Counter Long block, it has never been stamped or cut, Valve train is High Performance adjustable rockers...

Now the most important information everyone needs to know this is a 392 Block, 392 Heads and 392 INTAKE .... If these heads were bolted on anything other than a 392 it would need a.. WIDER ...alot ...Wider ... intake to take up the space WC 245 is for 392 ONLY .... I did find out that back in the 70's they made intakes for the width needed, today you can by spacers for the intake if you want to install 354 or 331 heads on a 392 block. But you still have to have a even wider intake or spacers if the other way around... As you can see in the pictures this motor doesn't have the spacers just aftermarket standard WC 245 intake....

Thanks
