Hi,

I have a question regarding my Brake lights. OK...Here goes, When I step on the brake pedal only the DRIVERS side tail light lights. Keeping the brake pedal / lights "ON", I put the Passenger side turn signal on and it blinks while the drivers side brake light stays on......then, if I put the "Drivers" side turn signal on, it will blink, and then the passenger side brake light will then come on. (but only if the drivers side turn signal is on).

So the passenger side brake light will only work if the drivers side turn signal is activated. I have changed the bulbs twice. Could it be the turn signal switch in the steering column?

Also, on another topic, I can't seem to get the reverse lights to work yet. I am in the process of checking the push button reverse switch, but not sure what to look for.

Oh, and one more thing. The instument panel lights, radio, heater, push-button lights will not work. I think I have to check the Reostat on the headlight switch.

Any information will really really be appreciated. Thanks Dave.

It is definately the turn signal switch. You'll want to disassemble, clean it, possibly stretch the springs and bend up the corner of the contacts if they are really worn.

Well the passenger side light isnt getting the voltage. I would start there, make sure it has a good ground and trace the 12 volts. Could be a fuse, or wire.... has to be something. Also make sure the lights have good grounds, a bad ground will cause all kinds of light problems....

Well, I got the steering wheel off. Would anyone know how far down the turn signal switch is? I tried to get the metal directional ring out but it has a wire going down the steering shaft. Would the switch be under this? Thanks again...

Before you start pulling the column apart, check the grounds on both taillights!

Agreed... i would start there. Put a ground on each light.. then see what you got.
