Can anyone tell me if the control arms (upper and lower) are different between 6 cyl and 8 cyl cars? I know that much of the front suspension is different for the V8, but are the control arms different too? TIA

I think they are heavier on the 56 Fury.

I had heard that the '56 Fury used '56 DeSoto suspension components instead of the Plymouth stuff.

The '56 Fury used '56 DeSoto front suspension components instead of the Plymouth stuff when it came with the optional 12" brakes and dual four barrel. D500 did too. 55-56 Mopar control arms all interchange with minor differences, and Chrysler/Desoto spindles bolt up to Dodge/Plymouth control arms. 56 Chrysler springs can be put in Plymouth if bigger engine is installed.
