Today I went to a Salvage yard in Seguin, Texas with my dad. Found a few FLs there, but really not much. It's odd seeing so many 57-58 Fords and Chevys, but no 57-58 Plymouths, man they must have rusted away even in Texas before going to the junkyard. Some cars there were 55-56 Plymouth, 56 Dodge, 59 Plymouth 4 DR SDN stripper with add on A/C, 2 57 Dodge 4 DR SDNs, 59 Dodge Coronet 4 DR SDN, 58 Imperial 2 DR HT, 60 Dodge Polara 4 DR SDN, and a 59 Chrysler Saratoga 4 DR SDN.

The 60 Dodge Polara 4 DR SDN with factory in dash A/C. Parts were still there, so someone with a convertible or whatever may want to strip those parts. No trim or emblems that are saveable left on the car. One of the 57 Dodge Custom 4 DR SDN next to it has factory in dash A/C that has many of it's parts.

Website for the yard is www.johnssalvagecompany.com

Sorry Brent, I know it was a 4 door and I believe a Coronet or Custom Royal by the side trim. A lot of parts were picked off. I didn't snap photos of this car. I have a few photos of some of the cars in the yard that I will post when I get home, can't figure out how to change the sizes on this computer.

Brent, I know a yard in far north Texas that has probably 30 '55-56 Dodges. All the CRL headlight bezels are gone, but I remember one still having its tail lights as of a year ago or so.

Is that the same 56 in the pic you posted, and then the front view on photobucket ? Strange. CRL tailights, mirrors, windshield trim (which I would love to have), and yet the wrong headlight bezels. Oh yeah, front bumper wings which are kinda rare, and no grill teeth although they could have been removed. If this thing had the front bumper bar it would be really awesome.

I got the washboards off the '60 Polara 4dr at John's Salvage in Seguin. John is mostly interested in Fords himself and the Mopar stuff is pretty reasonable and you can walk the yard and pull parts yourself like we used to do. The place is hard to find though. It is HUGE.

Was the 'yard dog' still there?

Somehow, I managed to convince my lovely bride that on our return trip home from our honeymoon, that we should stop there and just 'look around'... We were warned that the 'dog' was already out in the yard, and being that I've dealt with dogs before, I didn't figure the 'dog' to be much of a problem. What the fine folks up front neglected to tell me was, the 'yard dog' was a freakin' bull! Imagine my surprise (and my overly understanding wife's surprise) when this behemoth comes sauntering around the corner trying to figure out who's in his yard! We hid in the rusty red '59 Plymouth for about 20 minutes till the 'dog' lost interest and went about his way. It was only later that I saw the 'dog' being fed and found that he was more a puppy that a vicious steak bent on revenge with a carnivore.

This was also about 12 years ago, and I remember there being quite a few FWLK cars there at the time, however, most were all pretty well picked over.

There were two dogs that followed us around, sometimes they would go about their way and then catch up to us. But they weren't the Michael Vick kind of dogs.
