That's a truly weird set of P/T plate numbers, but, if that's all you got on it:

Manual trannie, delivery Route #6, which is truck and drive-away, by the dealership, but Radio option
group (radio, B-U lights, LT O/s mirror, inside day/nite miror, and heater); Convenience Group (foam RR seat,
V/speed wipers, Jiffy Jet, and hand brake/map/glove box lights, & vanity mirror), and Appearance group (PLAIN
wheelcovers, stone shields and 2-tone steering wheel.

This is all installed on/in a Coronet V/8 (single tail pipe/2-bbl carb) 2-dr HT body, in white/red/white exterior, with
red/black Custom Coronet interior motif., built kinda-still-early o.o.a. 1/17/57.

The Broadcast Sheet and IBM card copy will tell you about all the other individual OEM options on the car.

well most of that seems accurate when compared to the car, with the exception to the manual tranny. the car does have a 3 spd pushbutton trans in it. the hole in the dash for the button pod doesnt look like it was cut out later or anything.

the car is a red and white hardtop. has a 325 ply w/ 3spd TF single exhause 2bbl.

has dealer added bendix power brakes and dealer A/C with the factory controls. this is not an underdash hanging unit.

does have everything else you said it should. i think i may be out of luck on the ibm card. the carpet is gone, glove box is gone, headliner is missing so i think im stuck. anywhere else i can find the actual vin w/o the door jamb tag?

any chance of finding out where the car was sold new?

Well, if it's got a T/Flite, there should be a "3" at the far-left side of the P/T plate numbers.

If it had factory A/C, it might be coded for it, but, then, the car would not be coded for having factory undercoating.

Hmmm; if it's got factory A/C, there should also be a code number on it for having tinted/shaded
windows, too, but such coding is NOT on your list of option numbers on the P/T plate.

Are you saying that the dealership installed the A/C after the car was built?---that would make sense, in which case the car would be coded for undercoating, but not for A/C (and, not for tinted windows).

The factory's information sheet-letter, that accompanies the IBM build card copy, will identify the car's original selling dealership.

I'm curious about its location, too, as its delivery route was neither by Truck, Rail, or Customer Drive-Away.

ok, looked again, there is a 3 that i missed, FAAARRRR left on the tag. so the line that i had

listed as 1 6 234

actually reads 3 1 6 234
what changes does that make in the significance of the 1, 6, and 234 numbers... does that designate them differently now that we know we have a 3? i have a fuzzy cell phone pic i can try to post, if its no good ill get some pics tomorrow on the camera.

i was told that the a/c as a dealer add-on after the factory. what i meant in my original post is that it isnt one of those that you see the whole unit hanging under the dash like mustangs had....inside it has factory correct a/c controls, but yes, they were supposed to be added at the dealer.
thanks neil.

Depending upon where that "1" might be located, it could confirm A/C, or, Undercoating, but A/C should be combined
with a Solex option, so, failing the tinted glass option-code, I'm going with Undercoating--the other option codes remain in effect.

Now, go look for that B.-Sheet, and get the IBM card copy (with the additional info that will be provided by the H.S. , in
a cover-letter to you.)
