You might consider applying some sort of polish-protectant-clear coat-dunno what, to the steering wheel, to preserve the OEM paint which is applied to it. IIRC, there is a black-plastic base material to the steering wheels, and I'd think that you'd want to preserve the steering wheel's beautiful appearance. Also, on the EvilPay, you can get NORS (don't think that they're NOS??) brake and clutch pedal pads; why not? everything else on the car looks like they're in brand new condition!

Extreme Veteran Posts: 320 Location: lakeview, ny 14085 | yep thats the car that was at the mopar nats and it does drive excellent. my truck broke down on the way back so i had to unload her and drive it home the rest of the way. it drives brand new, i was really impressed and yes the previous owner is a super nice guy. he sold it to finance a 70 coronet 440 six pack car he's getting. dont know my plans yet but i had to have it. the paint is just a tic off, not quite yellow enough but its a quality job on a rock solid car. i need to do the original wheels in body color (he had chromies on it that he wanted to keep) and some windlace inside and thats about it. underside of this car has been media blasted and it is cleaner than a badgers bippie. headliner has some spotting so i think the windshield and back light gaskets are dried out and leaking but other than that its pretty darn sweet. i'm a happy boy, broken truck and all.

Expert Posts: 2612 Location: Parts Unknown | I can't wait to see what combo you decide on (tires wheels) I love these cars ! I feel they look every bit as good with black walls, white walls (even skinny, don't shoot!) full caps, dog dish etc. . . WHOO ! ! ! !

Elite Veteran Posts: 988 Location: Kansas City, Kansas | That car would look great painted bright red! (of coarse I'm kidding!) I really like the low-line models in the 2dr sedan body style (all makes and models) I wish they made a '60 DeSoto in a 2dr sedan. (Maybe I should find a '60 Fireflite 2drHT and graft on a '60-61 Dodge 2dr sedan roof!) Beautiful car you have. More photos please!

Wise Old Village Idiot Posts: 3591 Location: Dellslow, West ("By God") Virginia ! | I want you guys to go look at this! General Discussion; "Centinial Clebration of V. Ex" Look closely at Ex's rear fender design on that Studebaker,,,,,,,,,, Now, look at the front fender on the '61 Dodge,,,,,,,,, mmmmm,,,,,,,, I see a 'strange' resemblance. And, I ain't blind in one eye and can't pee out of the other, either!

Extreme Veteran Posts: 320 Location: lakeview, ny 14085 | actually i have a 413 here and a 383 magnum sittin in the shop but i don't think i can change this car it is just too nice. its a 36000 mile car, undersides been media blasted and it is clean as whistle. i do see where they made a 4barrel intake for the slant six and rated it @195 hp but i was reading that actually it pumped about 275. that might be the way to go with this bad mamajama. Posts: 19146 Location: bishop, ca | Owning this car, in 'this' condition, is a little bit like owning some old/funky real estate is a ritzy neighborhood! Rich-Guys like Bob Mosher (not poor-boys, like Willie, and Yikey) would pay some big-bux to get their hands and wrenches onto your car, to make it into a Max-Wedgie or Maxine-Hemi so that they could sell it quickly for a lot more- money, than they will have paid to you, for your car. Beware of the GEEKS, bearing gifts! Edited by d500neil 2009-09-29 6:28 PM

Veteran Posts: 107 Location: Sydney | Love survivor cars. Base models like this one never seemed to get much respect, so I think many owners drove them into the ground. There's probably more 300Gs around in survivor condition than Seneca coupes !

Expert Posts: 1539 Location: Farnborough. Hampshire. England. | It's treating me just fine Dan thanks...I can honestly say that it's faultless, it drives far and away the best F/L that I have ever owned...In fact, you can tell as soon as you drive it, that it has been looked after all its life, everthing is just right with no squeaks or rattles, and the gearbox shifts smooth as silk.. I'd be more than grateful for more pics Dan.........Cheers mate..

Expert Posts: 1539 Location: Farnborough. Hampshire. England. | Forgot to mention, it flew through our strict MOT test with flying colours, it only needed a new centre link which I got from Kanters.. It's being UK registered next week, then I'll be road legal......Had loads of "Is it for sale mate?" but this one's a keeper for sure..........

Elite Veteran Posts: 708 Location: Fredrikstad, Norway. (Europe) | Right colour, right car. Would I like to own it? Well, dreams are still for free. It's soooo nice. Got a couple of '61 Seneca 4-door sedans, one silver, and one '61 Polara 4 door sedan originally black, but will for sure have this copper poly colour if I ever finish it. Treat it well. Einar. Expert Posts: 2308 Location: The Bat Cave, Fairborn, OH | Now how cool is that!?! There's a guy on the board who picked up a 1961 Plymouth 2-door within the last year or two that could be your car's brother. His car was also copper poly if I remember right. He resprayed it though and did a lot of other work on it so it's a stormin' bus.
