I'm helping a friend translate his dataplate. The car is a 1960 Chrysler Windsor. Here are the letter-number combinations:

A2 B4 N5 Q4 R1 T2 X1 Y8

TRM 131

Can one of the 60 Chrysler experts out there help me with this ?

Ron

This is how far I can do it, maybe Bill Watson can kick in some more information. Strange (for me) that the radio is repeated

A2 - 302 Deluxe group (Windsor) Electric Clock, Left Outside Remote Mirror, Golden Tone Radio
B4 - No clue ( could be decour group - wheel covers before 12-09-1959??)
N5 - 315 Push Button Custom Conditionaire Heater
Q4 - 334 Convertible Top Blue
R1 - No clue (is there a light package on the car?)
T2 - 422 Golden Tone Astrophonic Radio
X1 - Not sure - 411 Body Sill Mouldings??
Y8 - 588 Undercoating with underhood pad

TRM 131 Blue cloth and vinyl

I don't have any pictures of the car right now. He sent me a photo of his dataplate when I mentioned that I could have it decoded for him.

Ron, I surely would like to see the other numbers on the P/T-tag - that is for to be able to understand if my guesses has any plausibility. If he's not to "shy", the VIN would also be nice to see. It's a convertible I beleive?

I don't have the VIN number and I'm not sure he would like to share it. He's presently doing a restoration on the car and just needed the options decoded.

OK, understood, but could you not post a picture of the P/T tag - I would like to see the schedule built day/shipping order number. With that information, I could eventually learn/share more.

The information that I posted is the only information he wanted me to share with the group. So I have to respect his wishes. Sorry.

The T2 -422 Astrophonic radio (individual-option) may be an upgrade to the "Golden Tone" radio, which is included as being a part of the A2-302 "Deluxe Group" option.
