Location: Parts Unknown | I find it hard to believe that this truck design was all the farther management would allow Exner to take things. Given the overall 57 Mopar designs and outside influences like the Aussie Ute they were selling down under and Ford Ranchero, not to mention known proposal drawings. The lingering 1950 cab and nose clip, hardly disguised with that tacked-on "mask" .... It is cool for what it is, .... but it could have been so much more. The red one really looks sweet with the side trim removed and the always flattering crappy radials.

Location: The Mile High City | That '59 is particularly appealing. I have seen several '57s and many '58s - but very few '59s. Nice colors too. The blue and white '58 looks familiar. It may have been outside the Barrett Jackson auction in January of 2008. It appears to have a '57 front clip? Something was funky about that car. Edited by Lancer Mike 2010-02-09 11:23 PM

Expert Posts: 2244 Location: Yorba Linda, Ca | I like the 57 blue and white mostly due to its car-like front end. Alto the hemi in it ain't too shabbie either. I havta disagree with Doc, I recall seeing these when they were new, and they put any cameo or fanciee ford truck to shame. They cudda fancied up the interiors a bit--but that not that hard to do. That Coral/white truck, above, is a '58, right? Wonder is that's where the 1961 DeSoto's upper-front-end styling came from....

Location: The Mile High City | I think the coral and white is a '57 - I thought the '58's had the headlight pods like the '59. If that is the same blue and white one that was in Phoenix in January of 2008, the engine is not a hemi.

Expert Posts: 2244 Location: Yorba Linda, Ca | I called the seller of the blue and white truck. It is a 315 Hemi. Note the valve covers, and the picture is not quite clear enough but it does look like the wires from the distributor are going thru that cover on the middle of the valve cover .
