does the 1958 plymouth have a vin number on the frame if so where?, also is the vin on the engine? if so what part of the engine?

Location: At "The Rock" in upper East Tennessee

Never noticed a vin on an engine bt there is one on top of the frame. Look on the drivers side jut before the up sweep for the rearend. It might also be found in other locations but have always found the on top of the frame somewhere.

thanks for the tip Donnie as soon as I read your post, I found and sanded one right where you said, it took some doing, the numbers read lp8 I9647 my engine reads lp8019647 im not sure what the o means on the engine but the last 5 digits match.I thought the frame and body shared sequence numbers turns out the engine and frame do, I read that on plymouth central,thanks again.
