I am asking for advice on buying a brake conversion kit (drum to disc) for a 59 Desoto, Firesweep 4 door sedan.
Your recommendation on the best and easiest to install will be appreciated; please note by name, model number and source. As part of the kit I'd like to also have included a duel master cylinder.
Thanks in advance!

If there is an problem with the De Soto's unit, pleas ask and one of us
will help you.

The stopping data of the OEM unit is the same as the disc unit that you are
asking about. Un-less you drive in swamps and "tail-gate".

Do you want to stay with 14" wheels or are you willing to upgrade to 15"?
There are some discbrake conversions available but most of them only small 10.5" rotors.
While they work 'ok' for normal use, they are not the 'best' of course.

Rodger, My brakes are OK but I'm wondering if disc brakes would be better. You obviously answered that! And, saved me money!

How do you feel about installing a duel chamber master cylinder?

Did you get my check for the calendars?
Thanks,
Stan
BTW: how did you figure out it was me?

There are duals from later in the 60s that will bolt up. Some may try to talk you out of it. I put later dual pot on my '60 Plym along with disc brake spindles from a '77 NYer, never looked back.
