9th annual Big Wheels is a open air round-up for classic and vintage cars, hotrods, customs and motorcycles. The main event takes place in Pieksämäki by the scenic lake Pieksäjärvi at the recreational park area between cultural centre Poleeni and Toikanniemi. Big Wheels is an family oriented event. Last year our event had 600 vehicles and over 7000 people. Besides real life size cars we have also a scale model car show, special meeting for pedal cars and very popular cardboard car workshop for children.

FRIDAY 16th JULY 2010
====================
From 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm, weekend begins with a city sightseeing cruising (with own classic cars) which starts from the central market square at 7:30pm and ends at ABC!Pieksämäki service station about an hour later. No fee for spectators.

From 9:00 pm to 2:00 am, official evening party at the Wanhat Weturitallit venue, starring popular Finnish guitar band JANI & JETSETTERS. Age limit 18 years of age, tickets for the evening party 13e.

SATURDAY 17th JULY 2010
====================
From 10:00 am to 4:00 pm, the main event, classic car round-up by the lake Pieksäjärvi between Poleeni park and Toikanniemi. Kustoms, hot rods, muscle cars, vintage cars, American trucks. Also a pedal car meeting, model car show, cardboard car workshop for kids and live music performed by THE SEATHIEVES (Finnish) and THE RATTLESNAKES (Russian). Tickets 5 euros for adults over 15 years of age. Kids for free. Also a 5 euro fee for all the vehicles attending the round-up but the vehicle fee also includes ALL the passenger in the car.

From 4:30pm to 6pm, great cruising parade in the city streets (with own classic cars). No fee for spectators.

From 9:00pm to 2:00am, official Big Wheels rock'n roll party at the venue Wanhat Weturitallit. Starring NINE LIVES (Finland), SUE MORENO (Netherlands), JOHNNY AND THE ROCCOS (Scotland) & DJ Mr. Brown. Age limit 18 years of age, tickets 13e.

SUNDAY 18th JULY 2010
====================
From 12:00pm to 1:00pm, Mini Cooper car lottery at the central market square. No fee for spectators.

From 1:00pm to 3:00pm, scenic cruising starts from the market square (with own classic cars) to the Jäppilän Kievari steakhouse at Jäppilä 17 kilometres from downtown Pieksämäki

Location: Pieksamaki, Finland, Europe		It's now confirmed that there will be a own parking for all FL cars in Big Wheels. Lets see how many of them we could gather from Eastern Finland to the same spot same time =)
Unfortunately my project is still on its way so it'll stay in garage just 1 km from the scene =I

Location: Pieksamaki, Finland, Europe		Thank you for all visiting the meet! Unfortunately I was too busy to meet everyone but yet had chance to meet many FL owners.

Big Wheels had 800 vehicles (cars/bikes) and audience of 10.000 people. Cars mainly from Finland but also from Germany, Norway, Sweden and ..uh.. Australia.

Heikki,

Thanks for your efforts to get all FL cars to the same line-up . And thanks for sharing your exellent pictures. I´ll add only one photo in case that you missed this beauty... She stayed only a short while in our line-up.

I drove 988 km without any difficulties and visiting BW was worth of every penny spent. My pictures available on Fotki;

PS: My friend`s `57 finally made it to "Jäppilä" at Saturday evening. Also Juha`s `60 Adventurer (from Seinäjoki) was on the way to meeting but was left to Jyväskylä after some technical difficulties...

Once again thanks for everyone. I wish I would not have been so extremely busy all the time. Maybe we could do this again next year with a bit better organizing. Now we discovered this FL line-up too late, with more time for preparations I guess we could do it better. And I hope next year I would be there too with a proper car.

My '57 was just one mile from the line-up...
