Expert Posts: 1488 Location: New Castle PA | Awesome day today. All sun, loads of people, and about 550 cars. I took my 1957 DeSoto Adventurer. Here are a few pics (not all are FL cars, but I thought some of you might be interested anyway...). Expert 5K+ Posts: 7207 Location: Victoria, BC, on Vancouver Island, Canada | That Phoenix convertible is just incredible.. ! The restorer added the aluminum dashboard trim from a Polara / Matador, ( not available on Darts) and also stainless rocker panel moldings, likely from a Chrysler. The dash trim, especially adds a lot to the car. Edited by imopar380 2010-08-29 9:05 PM

Expert Posts: 1488 Location: New Castle PA | Could be. There were some unusual cars there -- things like sleepers that looked like family sedan but had blown engines under the hood. This was not a judged event -- just a local "fun thing", so any kind of "special" car was welcome. There were indeed a handful of newer cars mixed in with the real collector ones. Expert Posts: 2308 Location: The Bat Cave, Fairborn, OH | That 1953 DeSoto wagon is smokin'! I wonder what it has underneath the hood? :o The headlights look to me like the old-style VW Type 1 (Beetle) headlamp buckets with glass cover that were used up until 1967. Those must be pretty hard to find now too. (Classic 1953 DeSoto wagon.jpg) Attachments ---------------- Classic 1953 DeSoto wagon.jpg (174KB - 306 downloads)

Expert Posts: 1488 Location: New Castle PA | MoparBrew, yes the car show was in western PA, in the town of New Castle where I live. The "in-town" atmosphere IS great, and brings a lot of walk-in viewers, especially since it's free. The next one to watch for might be "Mopars in the Park" at Alameda Park in Butler PA. I have a "flier" on it here somewhere, but it's late September, and as I recall, I have a conflict that day. I usually take all 3 of my cars there.

The dash trim, especially adds a lot to the car. Thats my dads car, and thats him. He likes to add lettuce and tomatoes to cars. He does like that if it could of been that way. The rocker trim is from a 61 Chrysler, Looks nice!! I feel it adds to the car The dash trim came off a 60 Matador, he was going to put the 60 Desoto trim in it, but it did not match the radio If you look real close, on the font lower splash pan, he install the stainless trim from a 60 Polara It took us about 3 years to do. He likes to do every nut/bolt/fastener the way it was. Right now he is thinking of doing his 61 Phoenix One other thing, if you look at the interior. The colors should be reversed. My dad felt this is the way it should of been Wayne Edited by w.weiland 2010-08-31 8:57 PM
