Thanks to gentleman who posted some Forward Look finds in a scrap yard here in Alberta, I took a drive out there. Wow... Plodge heaven, with a smattering of Plymouths, a DeSoto, and a New Yorker. Had to be 2-1 Dodge cars to Plymouths. Guess the Plymouths are all still on the road...

I was lucky enough to be able to pull a generator with mounting bolts and hardware, a correct rad (to replace the '70s somthing rad in my car), the remanants of a Jiffy Jet washer bag (I think if I buy a new bag I think I'll still need the top part... but maybe this might have been a waste of time), a voltage regulator from the same car I got the generator from and a hunk of weatherstripping that's good enough to repair a few damaged areas on my car.

I was really hoping to find some rims today, but the owner of the yard told me not to bother as he says anything out there will be in bad shape and won't pass a safety check. Oh well.

All in all, not a bad day! I'll have to get my new used rad to a shop for re-coring. It looks great on the outside, no damage, no green spots, but I know better! What coolant was in there was a dark color, I can't really describe. I'm just glad to have picked this stuff up. I'm a few steps closer to getting the Fury un-restomoded.

On a different note, who knew we Western Canadians were as cheap as we are/were. Not one Dodge or Plymouth car out there with power steering, or power brakes, probobly close to 50% with radio deletes... and A/C, I won't even go there...LOL!

Methinks that lo-bux / el cheapo comment might apply pretty well to all farm areas. Those folks were
frugal !

Wrecking yards in rural areas generally have mainly low option, entry level models. Old yards remaining near big cities will yield more optioned out cars, as a rule.

Air conditioning in CANADA the Great White North?? LOL - didn't start to happen much until the early seventies in Canadian cars. Now they all have it. And yeah, the farmers didn't go for those new-fangled modern options like power steering and brakes much in those days either. I remember a comment from my great Uncle ( not a farmer, either) when my parents ( not farmers either) got a car with power steering, in all seriousnes, he said "What happens when you go over a pot-hole, it'll yank the steering wheel right out of your hand!" That was in 1968.
