Veteran Posts: 161 Location: Melbourne, Australia | Hi All, I've found various suspension parts on ebay that suit my car but I'd like to know if I'm buying a quality product or just a chinese knock off. Has anyone bought or used these parts from this dealer before? Thanks, Frank http://cgi.ebay.com/Dodge-Coronet-Custom-Dart-Lancer-Idler-Arm-Kit-...

Expert Posts: 3575 Location: Netherlands | Seems like $25 more expensive then it should be. Do a search on "Chrysler Idler Arm Kit" on ebay and you'll find kits starting at $15,-

Veteran Posts: 161 Location: Melbourne, Australia | Thanks Herman, I see what you mean, there are cheaper options. But how do you know of the quality of some of these parts? Are they cheap imports? I would rather pay a bit more for a " known " item and do the job once. Or, having said that, am I being too fussy? Will the imported parts do just as good a job as brand-name parts???

Veteran Posts: 161 Location: Melbourne, Australia | finsruskw - 2010-10-04 11:22 PM what car we talking here, '60 Dodge? DS Yeah, I'm looking at parts for my Dodge. I just chose this part as representative of the stuff that " carpartsdiscount " sells. There's no mention of a brand so it makes me think it's all imported. I'd like to know if anyone has used this stuff before and would they recommend it.

Expert Posts: 2289 Location: Eastern Iowa | I'd make up a list of what you want/need and shop the car parts places first. If nothing else , just to compare prices, Lot's of this stuff is still available. I scored a new master cyl & rear wheel cyl's for my C from NAPA last month, still available!! If you need me to run some interchange #s for you just hollar. I have early Moog and NAPA books and can cross check original MoPar #s from the parts book. Just need to knbow what you are working on is all. Dave S.

Extreme Veteran Posts: 508 Location: Orlando | almost all the NEW production parts I've seen on Ebay, unless they are old stock (like the NAPA or various TRW components) are grossly over priced. They are the same parts that can be bought at online stores like Rock Auto, only with a 100% or so mark-up. In fact, I bet that is what they are doing is...taking a $25 dollar part and selling it to you for $50, and then having it 'drop shipped' from the store directly to your house (they never even have possession of the part), whereas you could have bought the exact same part yourself at that same online store for $25 in the first place...and gotten faster service that way, to boot. I know for a fact that a number of EBAY stores operate this way. Always do a Google search first to see what online stores have the parts and what they are selling them for.

Veteran Posts: 161 Location: Melbourne, Australia | Thanks for the advice, guys. Sometimes it's hard to know what your buying or looking at just by a picture on a screen. And being on the other side of the world doesn't help either. Dave, I'll take you up on that offer. I will make a list and post it soon. Thanks, Frank

Expert Posts: 2289 Location: Eastern Iowa | OK, Here's some food for thought Upper ball jt....2196-058 and lower -059 do not cross directly in NAPA or Moog BUT Moog illustrated book shows their #s K-772 and K-719 respectivly for 60 Dodge. K-772 also listed for '70 Ply Barracuda, 58-70 Chrysler, 58-61 DeSoto, 57-70 Dodge, and 57-70 Plymouth. K-719 also listed for 58-64 Chrysler, 57-61 DeSoto, 57-64 Dodge, and 57-61 Plymouth Go figure!!! UCA Bshgs...1825-317 = NAPA 276-1171 UCA Bshgs...Moog # K7028 includes cams & bolts 2 kits per car, or they list 2 bushing only kits; #K-325 and K-309 1 kit per car each. LCA Bshgs...1636-107 = Moog #K-317 (2); looks like this includes shaft, nuts, pins etc. complete. LCA Strut Bshgs...#1825-539 = NAPA #274-8992 & Moog #K-354 (2) Tie Rod End Inner...#1818-999 = Moog #ES-579 Tie Rid End, Outer...#2084-352 = Moog #ES-320RL Hope this helps, I know I'm thouroghly confused at this point Dave S.
