Would love a decode please! I'm sorry htis is the best I can offer, I don't even have the tag...the previous owner wanted to keep it. Looks to me like 0 (or D) 921 0371 335 YYY 123? Will this tell me if it was sold in Canada? Edited by 58dodgeregent 2010-11-26 1:33 AM (HPIM1170.JPG) Attachments ---------------- HPIM1170.JPG (147KB - 147 downloads)

Expert 5K+ Posts: 8443 Location: Perth Australia | I am curious abot the body tags though, This is only the second real one I have seen and both have been off a convert, but are all the tags mixed up like this one? Trim should be numbers and paint letters but on the tags they are around the wrong way? Love to know because I have to have one made at some stage Thanks Mick

Posts: 19146 Location: bishop, ca | Looks like paint is single color YYY and its Trim is 123...; OK, I see what you mean:the TRM is stamped 'before' the PNT, on the plate. Never seen that order, before. 0921 would be Sept 21, (1959); that's a very early production date. Appears that this is a US-style P/T plate.

Expert 5K+ Posts: 8443 Location: Perth Australia | Yes Neil Is it just with plymouth converts or are they all that way? The tag on the red convert from the other 60 plym thread is also around the wrong way

Expert Posts: 1819 Location: Vancouver, BC | What is stamped just above the bottom row? There looks to be "ECIAL" above the paint code. To find out where the car shipped you will need to acquire the build record from Chrysler Historical. By the way, page on decoding the tag has the date as being for "delivery". That is incorrect. The date is for the scheduled date for "assembly". In many instances the date of delivery would not be known, especially cars built without an order from a dealer - the "sales bank" cars.

Interesting...I'll contact Chrysler historical, see what they come up with. I hope I don't need to send this tag, just the VIN?? Thanks for the help, all! Edited by 58dodgeregent 2010-11-26 9:37 PM

In BC you can transfer ownership of a vehicle and get a form from the government stating you are the owner of the vehicle. Alberta, though, does not have such a form, so if it is not registered advise them why it is not registered and enclose a copy of the bill of sale. They might accept it given that there is no title system.

I just got another data plate, from another 60 fury rag, and the last words that are hard to read on the one pictured is 'serial no' I'll post a pic of it when I can, it's made the same way with the letters in wrong places.

Neil, so this isn't a typical data plate, I understand? I'm wondering, is this an only-'60 Plymouth thing, or an only ragtop thing or ? This is my first Forward Looker with a plate like this on it at all, as the Canadian cars didn't get any data plate.
