I bought my car 2 yrs ago. Now that I'm getting to work on it, I find that it was not originally blue/white.
I have to use others computers and have no camera, so here is what I got from the tag.

3 ________ 5 _________ 1 __________ 71
schedule ______________bdy _________ pnt ______ trm
A0509 23031 _________ 2168 ________ 1EEE _______112

Any help is greatly appreciated... Thanks, Dallas

Ok.....Dallas: your Sierra 6-passenger wagon was built o.o.a. 5/9/57. and is all-Forest Green Poly (metallic)
with a green interior.

It has the TorqueFlite transmission , either power windows or Solex tinted/shaded glass(probably), undercoating,
a special sort of unusual-delivery to its selling dealership, maybe involving a boat(!), and it was built without
a OEM radio installed in it, but, it does have back-up lights, a left outside rear view mirror, a heater/defroster
(so, it wasn't delivered to a very warm climate), and the inside day/night mirror.

Being built in May indicates that it was probably well built--construction bugs worked out, by then--but, the most intriguing aspect is how it was delivered to its dealership!

It could/does have other interesting OEM options on it, probably, but they would only be shown
on the Broadcast Sheet (have you checked---carefully--- up/behind the glove box, to see if it is masking-taped there?)...and on the factory IBM Build card, a copy of which you can buy from the Historical Society, as per the instructions shown on the two 'Sticky' messages at the top of this message board.

Welcome aboard!

Thanks For The Information. I looked for the broadcast sheet did not find one. When I removed the interior I looked in the seats but found nothing there either. I think the (boat ride) may have been a Washington Ferry?
I found some old tire sales tickets in an envelope in the Glove box when I bought it. they were from 1959 a place on Whidbey Island? Found other tire sales from San Fransico Ca. Where the guy I bought it from said he got it.
Still puzzled about the paint. When I removed the roof rack to replace the roof, I found a Yellow color under the ribs. Guess it will remain a mystery. Thanks again, Dallas

A clue will be what color you're seeing, over-sprayed onto the inner firewall and the inner door panels/quarter panels
and in/around the trunk area, too---also, the engine side of the firewall should have the OEM color on it.

HERE's one, for you---remove the brake booster/master cylinder 'bracket' and look at the firewall behind it!

You'll see the OEM main-body color, there, in all of it's protected-from-Day-1-condition.
